Pixels to Inches: The Print Designer's Guide

Stop guessing resolutions. Start calculating with precision.

One of the most common questions in design is: "How many pixels do I need for an A4 paper?" The answer depends entirely on DPI (Dots Per Inch).

The Golden Rule: 300 DPI

For high-quality print, you almost always want 300 DPI. For web, 96 DPI (or 72 DPI legacy) is standard. This huge difference is why web images look blurry when printed.

Using our Advanced Pixel Converter, you can switch the density mode to "300" (or custom) to see exactly how large your image will print.

Common Formats @ 300 DPI

A4 Paper (8.27 x 11.69 inches)

= 2480 x 3508 pixels

4x6 Photo

= 1200 x 1800 pixels

Don't risk low-quality prints. Always verify your dimensions with a reliable Unit Converter before sending to the press.
